- I have only just recently become 'connected', and have finally got enough info
- to complete a project I started a few years back.
-
- I am writing a compiler for a language based on C++ in the Geos 2.0
- environment. I began doing this primarily for my own use, but am now
- considering putting it together as a package good enough to distribute.
-
- What I need is to know if there is anyone out there using Geos (in this
- newsgroup I mainly see discussions of games and demos) and whether anyone
- is interested in a new programming language for it. (I only know of two
- versions of Basic for Geos I think.)
-
- On a separate note, I am wondering if anyone would be interested in yet another
- C=64 or C=128 operating system. I was working on one in 1992 that had the
- unpronouncable development name of CGOE (Common Graphic Operating Environment).
- It doesn't go to the lengths that Geos does to redo the C= O/S, it provides
- menuing, windowing, and icon abilities, but uses the regular 8x8 C= characters.
- It is supposed to run all 64 versions of programs for it on a 128, but that
- part isn't done yet, all I got finished with was the basic system on a 128, the
- bulk of the code I have is the drawing routines for the VDC screen. Anyway,
- if I were to resume work on that, I would like to add support for expanded
- RAM configurations and HDs and such, so I would have to get a lot of info on
- those and either send code out for testing, or buy them myself. This would
- be a big project for me so I won't do it unless there is an appropriate degree
- of interest in the project.
-
- The object-oriented assembler is being completed regardless though, I just need
- to know whether I should do it quick and dirty or clean it up for th use
- of others.
-
- Either respond here or (preferably) e-mail me about either or both of these
- topics...
